Way to go Nereida, Janeth, and Isa! Feast Chefs at Tacos y Tequila Festival 2024

This weekend was Tacos Y Tequilas, a major Latinx culture and food celebration near the Spokane Public library downtown. Tacos y Tequila is a two-day festival organized by Nuestras Raices Centro Comunitario (NRCC) that celebrates Hispanic culture and history! The Spokane population turned out in droves to celebrate Latinx culture, music, dancing, and especially food and beverage. This event gets to showcase many chefs doing what they do best: introducing Spokane to the complex, vibrant flavors of home. Three of our own Chef Partners were able to sell their food through their own small businesses at this event. We are so proud to see them flourish, especially after getting to be a part of their journey! 

Chefs Janeth and Nereida from Colombia had their business Ricura Caribeña serving delicious Caribbean style Colombian food, treating all attendees to a unique and delicious flavor experience, which was a hit with the crowds. Chef Janeth told us “It was a great experience working in our own business for the first time. We applied all of our experience learned at Feast. This is a big festival and a lot of people came. Several clients from Feast also recognized us and when they saw our names, they came to our business because they knew about our food.” It is such a treat to be able to say we have been longtime fans of their work! 

Chef Isabel was kept very, very busy with her business Las Delicias de Isa, producing huge amounts of tasty Mexican delights. It’s no surprise she was so popular amongst the event guests, as her food is one of a kind.

Tacos Y Tequilas is another incredible way to support small culinary businesses in Spokane, and celebrate Latin America and all the incredible people that hail from there.
