WSU and Prism Collaborative provided Feast MHFA Training!

Yesterday we were so thankful to Washington State University and our friends at Prism Collaborative for offering Team Feast a free full-day Mental Health First Aid and specialized Narcan Training! Our staff and chefs were honored to learn these skills from you that can truly save lives!

Mental Health First Aid for Adults teaches people how to recognize signs of mental health or substance use challenges in adults ages 18 and older, how to offer and provide initial help, and how to guide a person toward appropriate care if necessary. Topics covered include anxiety, depression, psychosis, and addictions. Also, the training helps to prepare people to assist in administering Narcan to individuals who may have overdosed. These things are so important to learn, so we can be helpful neighbors and ready to step in when our community needs it. Mental Health is important for everyone, and being able to recognize signs and ways to assist will carry us forward.

With our neighbors downtown, as well as our own families and spheres of influence, it is so important to be aware of signs and know how to respond when someone is in trouble due to mental health concerns or potential substance overdose. Special thanks to Liat, Shelton, Diana, Julia, and Amy & Bob Lutz! Your support is priceless for our organization!
